Toplined by superstar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Bharat has set the box-office on fire. The movie, which hit the marquee on the auspicious day of Eid, is attracting audiences to theatres in droves. Resultantly, Ali Abbas Zafar’s big-ticket film has turned out to be one of the highest grossing movies of 2019.

Also featuring Sunil Grover and Disha Patani in important roles, Bharat entered the coveted club of ₹ 100 crores within four days of its theatrical release. Talking about the collections, the movie made ₹ 26.70 crores on Saturday, ₹ 27.90 crores on Sunday and ₹ 9.20 crores on Monday, taking its cumulative collection to an impressive ₹ 159.30 crores.

As mentioned above, Bharat has already grabbed the spot of the second highest grosser of 2019. It will soon become the highest grossing movie of the year before other biggies arrive in the coming months. Even though upcoming India – Pakistan World Cup match might keep audiences away from theatres for a day, trade analysts are hopeful that movie to join the ₹ 200 crore mark by the end of this week.

Talking about the success of the high-profile, director Ali Abbas Zafar had recently said, “We always wanted to make a film for the entire country to come and celebrate the spirit of Eid and the first day only validates our intent and effort to make a film that India can be truly entertained by.”

Bharat is an official adaptation of South Korean film Ode to My Father (2014). The film marks the third collaboration between Salman Khan and filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar after the humongous success of Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).

The film is produced by Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
