Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has been trolled for smoking and wearing what many describe as “inappropriate” attire.
The picture was taken when the Hindi Medium actress was getting ready for a shoot. Qamar is seen wearing a white shirt and her assistant is helping her take off her coat. She is seen holding a cigarette and this has irked a section of her fans who called her ‘un-Islamic’.
Qamar has not reacted to these trolls, but several of her colleagues have come out in support.
Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui slammed the haters saying, “Came through what’s being called BTS images of my colleague and a friend SabaQamar’s recently done photoshoot which is spreading on social media like wildfire, I’m deeply saddened by this act, this is not us and we shouldn’t take pride in it in any manner!”
Sadly, Qamar is not the first celebrity to face the wrath of netizens for smoking.
Mahira Khan was trolled mercilessly after a picture of her smoking and wearing a revealing outfit went viral.
Khan addressed the issue during a television show, saying: “That was the first time in my entire career that I was caught up in a so-called controversy and it was strange because there were so many things in that. One, obviously you feel violated, you are in a personal down time moment and someone has just photographed you.
“Two, obviously there was an uproar, because here I was, someone who is extremely loved in Pakistan, and they sort of keep me up on this pedestal you know, they treat me with a lot of love and a lot of respect. And there are certain things I didn’t realise that they don’t want to see me do.”
